February 14, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Rep. Nick LaLota (R-Suffolk County) joined a bipartisan group of his colleagues in voting to pass H.Res. 966(link is external), a resolution to forcefully condemn Hamas’ use of rape and sexual violence as weapons of war on and since October 7th.

“Since the terrorist attack on October 7th, there have been numerous first-hand accounts from Israeli citizens and Hamas hostages of these terrorists committing brutal acts of rape and sexual violence against innocent civilians. We must condemn these atrocities and the taking of hostages in the strongest possible terms while recommitting to ensuring the remaining hostages come home safe and sound,” said LaLota. “Since being sworn in, I have proudly stood in steadfast support of Israel and since the October 7th terrorist attack, my conviction to support our closest ally has grown even stronger. The United States must continue to support Israel during their time of need.”

Background:

LaLota has consistently voted in support of Israel and against Hamas terrorists.
