LaLota: Hochul is a “Schoolyard Bully," Taking From Our Kids to Fund Migrant Services
HAUPPAUGE, NY - Today, at a press conference with local officials, Rep. Nick LaLota (R-Suffolk County) criticized New York Governor Kathy Hochul for continuously using Long Island as a piggy bank for far-left schemes. The latest example comes as Governor Hochul’s proposed budget would force Long Island schools to make drastic cuts, at the expense of our students, to fund services for hotels for migrants without any legal status.
“As the husband of a teacher, the father of three young girls, a Long Island taxpayer, and someone who represents 750,000 Suffolk County residents in Washington, I am sick and tired of Albany using Long Island as their piggy bank and policy dumping ground. As if cashless bail, clean slate, congestion pricing, and a fever dream housing plan weren’t enough, now the Governor is ripping money away from Long Island schools. She’s a schoolyard bully, trying to take from our kids. Enough is enough,” said LaLota. “Governor Hochul aims to use our tax dollars to pay for her migrant crisis at the expense of our kids. While most of my focus is on federal policy, I am proud to fight for better policy choices in state government so that my constituents are treated with the respect they deserve.”
