LaLota Calls for TikTok to Be Banned in United States

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, March 23rd, 2023, Rep. Nick LaLota (NY-01) called for a ban on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) owned application, TikTok, in the United States.

“TikTok poses a direct threat to our national security, mental health, and privacy. There is irrefutable evidence that the Chinese Communist Party has a large influence and control over TikTok,” said LaLota. “Despite what the company claims, I am not convinced there can be a clean break between TikTok and its CCP-owned parent company, ByteDance. This should concern all Americans and Congress must act in Americans’ best interest and ban TikTok immediately.”
