LaLota Recovers Over $15.6 Million for Suffolk County Residents

June 25, 2026

HAUPPAUGE, NYCongressman Nick LaLota (R-Suffolk County) announced today that his office has recovered more than $15.6 million for Suffolk County residents since taking office in January 2023 through hands-on constituent casework with federal agencies.

"My casework team has hit a new milestone since I took office, cutting through red tape at the IRS, VA, Small Business Administration, and other federal agencies to recover more than $15.6 million for Suffolk County residents. Behind that number are Veterans who got the benefits they earned, seniors who got the Social Security checks they counted on, and families who received overdue tax refunds. That's real money back in their pockets for everyday expenses and a little more relief for household budgets," said LaLota.

"Whether relief comes through constituent casework, a quadrupled SALT cap, or $42.1 million in community project funding investments for our county, towns, and villages, I'll keep fighting to ensure Long Island gets its fair share. If you need help with a federal agency, contact my Hauppauge office at (631) 289-1097 or visit LaLota.house.gov."
