WASHINGTON, D.C. - Rep. Nick LaLota (R-Suffolk County) released the following statement after being appointed to his Subcommittees on the House Appropriations and Small Business Committees, further expanding his role in addressing critical issues facing the nation and Long Island.

On the House Appropriations Committee, LaLota will serve as Vice Chairman of the Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee, a member of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee, and a member of the Legislative Branch Subcommittee. Additionally, he was reappointed to serve as Chairman of the House Small Business Subcommittee on Contracting and Infrastructure and was appointed to serve as a member of the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access.

“It’s an honor to be appointed to the Financial Services and General Government, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Legislative Branch Subcommittees of the influential Appropriations Committee and the Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access and Contracting and Infrastructure Subcommittees on the Small Business Committee, where I can work to deliver real results for the people of Long Island, New York and our nation,” LaLota said. “Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, creating jobs, driving innovation, and building stronger communities. I’m committed to ensuring they have the resources and support they need to thrive. Additionally, with New York receiving just 91 cents back for every dollar we send to Washington, I have and will continue to make it a top priority to ensure our taxpayers get their fair share of federal investments to strengthen our economy and improve our quality of life through my appointment to the House Appropriations Committee.”

“I am excited to support Congressman Nick LaLota’s appointment to the Appropriations Subcommittees on Financial Services and General Government; Military Construction and Veterans Affairs; and Legislative Branch," said House Committee on Appropriations Chairman Tom Cole. "With strong backing from his state delegation and a proven record of leadership, Congressman LaLota is committed to ensuring accountability in federal spending and prioritizing the efficient use of taxpayer dollars. His ability to tackle complex challenges reflects his steadfast commitment to both his constituents and the nation, and his leadership will be a tremendous asset to Long Island and the country.”

“Last Congress, Rep. LaLota served as a valuable Member of the House Committee on Small Business,”  said Congressman Roger Williams, Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business. “After seeing his success as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Contracting and Infrastructure, I look forward to continuing to work with him as he uses his experience and innovative ideas to continue to lead the Subcommittee, enhancing opportunities for small businesses to participate in providing goods and services to the federal government.”
