LaLota to Visit U.S.-Mexico Border to See Crisis First-Hand
EL PASO, T.X. - Today, February 24th, 2023, Rep. Nick LaLota (NY-01), a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, will join several of his colleagues on a trip to the U.S.-Mexico border. LaLota and other Members of Congress will visit El Paso a border city just two miles from Juarez, Mexico, which is known to be controlled by drug cartels that have been sending fentanyl into the United States. On the trip, LaLota will be briefed on the daily operations of Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and Texas State Law Enforcement partners.
“The Biden Administration’s failed border policies have turned communities across the country into border communities. I’m looking forward to visiting the border and hearing directly from local officials and Law Enforcement about the challenges they are facing every day. As a member of the Homeland Security Committee, I am committed to working with all of my colleagues to make sure our country is safe, our border is secure, and Law Enforcement has the tools it needs to be successful.”
