LaLota Applauds Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Address, Reaffirms Support for Israel
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Rep. Nick LaLota (R-Suffolk County) released the following statement after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to a joint session of Congress.
“Israel and the United States are nations founded upon religious freedom and deterring conflict and I am proud to reaffirm my support for Israel’s existence and right to defend itself,” said LaLota. “Nine months ago, Israel was dragged into an existential fight against Hamas terrorists. Now, the world must finally unite forces to confront evil head-on. The grave situation requires the Biden-Harris Administration to stop being so equivocal and demonstrate strength to achieve peace.”

LaLota is a Navy Veteran who served three deployments. He sits on the Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees, advocating tirelessly for our national defense and that of our allies.
This morning, LaLota attended a roundtable with One Israel Fund, which works to facilitate over 200 unique projects annually, filling gaps in medical, educational, recreational, preventative securities, and all other forms of communal and social welfare.
LaLota voted to pass the following bills:
- H.Res. 559, would declare it is the policy of the United States that a nuclear Iran is unacceptable.
- H.Res. 599, would urge the European Union to designate Hezbollah in its entirety as a terrorist organization.
- H.Res. 798, would condemn the support of Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorist organizations at institutions of higher education, which may lead to the creation of a hostile environment for Jewish students, faculty, and staff.
- H.R. 340, the Hamas and Other Palestinian Terrorist Groups International Financing Prevention Act, would impose sanctions with respect to foreign support for terrorist organizations, including Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
- H.R. 3266, the Peace and Tolerance in Palestinian Education Act, would require the Secretary of State to submit annual reports reviewing the curriculum used by the Palestinian Authority.
- H.R. 3774, the Stop Harboring Iranian Petroleum (SHIP) Act, would impose sanctions with respect to the importation or facilitation of petroleum products from Iran.
- H.R. 6126, the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, would support Israel in its efforts to defend itself against Iran and its proxies; reimburse U.S. military operations in response to recent attacks; replenish the Iron Dome, Iron Beam, and David’s Sling defense systems’; support the procurement of advanced weapons systems, defense articles, and defense services through the Foreign Military Financing Program; enhance production and development of artillery and critical munitions; provide flexibility for transfers of defense articles to Israel from U.S. stockpiles; and prohibit funds to the pro-Hamas United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
