Nick LaLota (R–Suffolk County), the Northeast’s only Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, today released the following statement after helping craft legislation—now signed into law by the President—that delivers more than $429 million in federal funding for Suffolk County.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Nick LaLota (R–Suffolk County) announced that the community projects he authored and advanced through the Appropriations process were signed into law today, January 23, 2026. The bill includes ten Community Project Funding projects totaling $11,839,915 for Suffolk County, delivering critical investments in clean water infrastructure, law enforcement equipment, and environmental protection across New York’s First Congressional District.
Releasing the Epstein files shouldn’t be a partisan fight — it’s a matter of basic decency. That’s why I voted YES this week to make them public, and I’m glad the Senate joined us. The bill was also introduced alongside Congresswoman Emilia Sykes (OH-13), Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-4), Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1), and Congressman Tom Suozzi (NY-3).
