119th Congress
Releasing the Epstein files shouldn’t be a partisan fight — it’s a matter of basic decency. That’s why I voted YES this week to make them public, and I’m glad the Senate joined us. The American people deserve the truth about Jeffrey Epstein’s network, every victim deserves answers, and no one — regardless of wealth or political connections — deserves protection from the law.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressmen Nick LaLota (NY-01) and Chris Deluzio (PA-17), both U.S. Naval Academy graduates and Navy Veterans, announced the introduction of H.Res.742 – Recognizing the 250th birthday of the United States Navy.

Statement from Congressman LaLota:
"On September 19, 2025, I voted to pass H.R. 5371, the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026 — a clean, short-term funding bill to keep the federal government open and operational for 52 days. The bill’s bipartisan, temporary design was intended to prevent a shutdown while giving both parties time to negotiate the twelve long-term appropriations bills responsibly.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Nick LaLota (NY-01) and Congresswoman Jen Kiggans (VA-02), both U.S. Navy Veterans, led a group of House Republican Veterans in asking Senate Democrats who are Veterans to support the House-passed Continuing Resolution (CR) that ensures pay for U.S. Servicemembers while Congress continues negotiating annual appropriations.
For years, Democrats have blasted Republicans for even talking about government shutdowns, warning of the harm they would cause everyday Americans. No one has been louder than New York’s own Senator Schumer. Yet just last week, those same Democrats voted to shut down the government outright, rejecting the House’s status-quo funding bill that carried no partisan riders and simply extended existing funding for 52 days. The hypocrisy is striking. The recklessness is worse.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Nick LaLota (NY-1) announced he introduced bipartisan legislation alongside Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) to expand a critical provision of the Working Families Tax Cut, eliminating federal taxes on overtime pay for all union workers. The bill was also introduced alongside Congresswoman Emilia Sykes (OH-13), Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-4), Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1), and Congressman Tom Suozzi (NY-3).
